Outcome Expectations
Outcome Expectations
A person learns that certain outcomes happen in a given situation and expects those outcomes to happen when that situation presents itself again and the person performs accordingly.
-Expectations guide behavior
-Outcomes are given values according to the person who is observing
-A person will most likely choose to maximize a positive outcome over a negative outcome
The students in this video have learned from past experiences that they will be rewarded for cleaning up within a certain amount of time, so most of them exhibit the desired behavior because they want to be rewarded.
