Law of Similarity - when objects look similar, people tend to group them together; most people would look at this figure and see columns of squares and triangles
Law of Pragnanz - images are tend to be seen in the simplest form possible; in this figure, most people will see a group of circles rather than other complicated shapes
Law of Proximity- objects that are near each other tend to be grouped together; most people would describe this image as two groups of four stars
Law of Continuity- lines in images are seen by most people to follow the simplest path so as to make the image seem smooth and put together; most people would follow the upper row of circles before following the lower row
Law of Closure- people tend to view images as a whole; most people would see an oval in this image, even though there are no lines forming an oval
